Ref: 205-002-2015-002L 10 March 2015 RPS Australia Asia Pacific PO Box 149 Wurtulla QLD 4575 Attention: Brad Williams Dear Sir RESPONSE TO MCU APPLICATION – INFORMATION REQUEST FOR APPLICATION MCU14/0083, 178 EUMUNDI NOOSA ROAD, NOOSAVILLE In response to your Information Request Notice dated 11th November 2014, we provide the following responses for approval. ISSUE The submitted management plan includes assumptions of the downstream drainage system and the applicant has not demonstrated that the downstream drainage system has the capacity to cater for the proposed development. 4. Information Required Demonstrate that the downstream drainage system has the capacity to cater for the proposed development in accordance with Council’s Planning Scheme Policy 5 and QUDM or provide amended plans that indicate the necessary on site detention system. Response: Please find attached the drainage catchment plan and drainage calculation table (provided by Council on 26th February 2015) that demonstrates the existing system has the capacity to accommodate the post development flows from the site as described below. With reference to the attached catchment plan, the site’s discharge point to the underground drainage system is at is at Pit 9, which then joins Pit 5. The calculations table shows the design flows in this reach of the system to be 32l/s with a capacity within this reach of 161l/s. The stormwater quantity analysis within the Stormwater Management Plan provided with the application, estimates a pipe flow from the proposed development in the order of 69l/s. As such, flows from the proposed development (69l/s) and the catchment (32l/s) are accommodated within the existing system (161l/s). ISSUE The applicant has not submitted the MUSIC model files for assessment. Council also has concerns with the potential future costs of maintaining the proposed system.
