GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING REPORT 13 MARCH 2023
The brief was to respect the integrity of the Keys’ Boronia as its emblem, which is still considered
an endangered species and now protected within national parks.
The purpose was to produce a modern, simplified brand, revised colour palette and typography
that captured the essence of the organisation and the shire.
The tagline ‘Different by Nature’ has also been retained and will be used for specific branding
purposes.
The refreshed look aims to be more digital friendly, reflect the future strategy of the Council, be
versatile and provide consistency in all strategic publications and digital platforms.
This new brand and the associated branding designs will provide new energy and impetus for
Council and its facilities.
Previous Council Consideration
The brand refresh was one of the key recommendations in the CEO Roadmap for the Organisation
Noosa 2.0.
Finance
Expenditure was within the existing Corporate Plan budget. The total cost for this brand refresh
and associated review of the Council’s facility brands was $60,000 plus GST.
The brand refresh is initially a digital rollout, but moving forward there will be cost implications as
the brand refresh is progressively rolled out. This includes uniforms, car decals and signage as
required. This will be dependent on available budget in future years.
Risks & Opportunities
Whilst the existing Council brand has a connection to the community and organisation, it’s time for
Council to move forward to modernise and refresh its corporate identity.
The brand refresh has been designed to respect the integrity of the iconic boronia and provide a
clear visual link to the existing brand.
It will become highly recognisable, modernise Council’s identity, is a flagship for organisational
pride and morale and provides a new way forward in promoting our shire as an attractive place to
live, work and invest.
