Peregian Beach
Council issued a further advice request on 6 October 2021. The applicant provides the
following additional information in response to the items:
1. Provide an arborists report detailing the health of the existing Pandanus
Tectoricus, or where it can be relocated, provide an amended landscape plan
that details this.
Please find attached email correspondence from Sunshine Coast Tree Works - Kurt Brown
noting the pandanus tree has a stunted crown and sooty mould present, which is a sign of
the Jamella Leaf Hopper. The recommendation is for the removal of the tree and
replacement with a similar size 1,000l tree in the new location identified in the landscape
plans.
(Kurt’s qualifications are AQF Level 5 Arborist, ISA TRAQ Certified, Past President Queensland Arboricultural Association,
Professional Membership: Queensland Arboricultural Association 8 years, Arboriculture Australia 6 years, International
Society of Arboriculture 4 years)
2. Provide an amended landscape plan complying with Acceptable Outcome
AO1 of the Landscaping code and PSP2 Landscaping.
An amended landscape plan is proposed with an updated landscaping schedule in
accordance with PSP2.
Pursuant to the Development Assessment Rules, the applicant has given the assessment
manager the information requested in the further advice. Please progress with your
decision making at your earliest convenience.
If you have any further queries in relation to the above, please do not hesitate to contact
myself.
