We have only recently (December) bought our property at 349 Lake Macdonald Drive and did so because of the tranquil environment. When the development started out the back we lost a lot of sleep through noise at all hours of the day. Since construction finished the noise has abated somewhat but not completely. We are still being awoken during the night by some kind of machinery changing its state and noise level. Now with this proposed increase in productivity, I am concerned that our sleepless nights will also increase. Particularly during construction as they seem to go for 24/7. I have had a look at the application and did not see the hours of operation, particularly the packaging shed, mentioned anywhere. it mentions staff starting and finishing times but is not specific about the harvesting periods, the packaging for shipment and what time the truck movements might be and whether they would be restricted to certain hours of the day. Although it does mention the number of movements are they likely to be concentrated or spread out? I am also a little confused about the suggestion that it is not a flood area. Locals have told me that it does flood down there and with the storage of 20 tonnes of fertiliser what affect is that likely to have if it gets into the waterways? I am looking forward to see what will come of this and that our concerns will not be overlooked. Yours sincerely, Bob Lacey and Jeanette Kelly
