3. Details of Submission
I (We), make the following submission: that the application made in regard to the above mentioned Material Change of
Use which includes a provision for extended trading hours be refused by the Noosa Council on the grounds that the
extended trading hours will have a negative impact on the area for the following reasons:
• Negative impact on perception of Noosaville as family friendly destination
• Negative impact on tourism to the area which consists mainly of families and baby boomers
• Negative impact on residents and guests in the immediate area from noise when people leave the establishment
late in the evening and the noise during the later hours of operation – after 10pm at night the Noosaville area has
no noise therefore any noise created is amplified due to the quiet nature of the area.
• Negative impact on residents and guests in the immediate area from unruly behaviour created when people have
access to alcohol late in the evening
• No other establishment in the immediate Noosaville tourism area operate to such hours (most close around
9:30pm)
• No immediate requirement or need in the area for an establishment to operate to those hours
• Lack of infrastructure to support these trading hours – last bus leaves at 12:05am and no taxi rank in the
immediate area – this leaves people loitering around in the immediate area creating noise and disturbance for
those guests to the area or residents.
(if necessary, use separate sheet of paper and attach)
