Attention: Assessment Manager,

I support this application because we are on tank water as well as the convenient location.

In Pinbarren, the reliance on tank water is a daily reality for many residents, and it's a practice rooted in both necessity and environmental responsibility. Tank water systems are a lifeline, ensuring a sustainable and self-sufficient source of freshwater for our households. The collection, storage, and management of rainwater have become integral aspects of daily life, underscoring the importance of preserving every precious drop.

However, the challenge that often arises is the limitation of available tank water, especially in regions characterized by intermittent rainfall and extended dry periods. The careful management of tank water becomes imperative, making it essential to use this resource judiciously. This is where the need for a car wash facility in close proximity becomes evident. While the environmentally conscious choice is to refrain from washing vehicles at home, the lack of nearby car washes poses a challenge. As responsible citizens, we want to ensure our tank water reserves are prioritised for essential uses, like drinking and household needs, rather than car cleaning.

The introduction of a local car wash addresses this challenge by providing a sustainable solution that respects the importance of water conservation. It offers a convenient option for residents to maintain their vehicles without taxing their tank water supplies. By reducing the need for home car washing and offering an eco-friendly alternative, the car wash facility becomes an ally in ensuring the responsible use of limited tank water. This not only simplifies the lives of Cooroy residents but also aligns with our shared commitment to preserving our environment and valuable water resources for generations to come.

And finally, the proposed development harmoniously aligns with the existing character of this location and serves as a complementary addition to the two pre-existing service stations. Additionally, it ensures the preservation of valuable industrial land for potential future use.

Kind Regards

Barry O’Neill
