The sheds will be constructed to current best practice standards including the
following elements:
• efficient computer-controlled tunnel ventilation system;
• insulated panel roof and wall construction;
• nipple drinkers with spill cups.
The locations of the proposed poultry sheds on the subject site are shown on
Figure 4.
Based upon typical commercial stocking densities, the proposed sheds will have
the capacity to be stocked with 26,800 to 34,840 birds per shed with numbers
thinned at stages during the batch cycle. On the basis that all sheds are stocked
at the same time, the potential number of birds within the farm is in the order of
230,000 birds.
The tunnel ventilation fans for the proposed sheds will be located as follows:
Shed 1: Eastern Wall
Shed 2: South-western Wall
Shed 3: Northern Wall
Shed 4: Southern Wall
Shed 5: Northern Wall
Shed 6: North-eastern Wall
Shed 7: Western Wall
Shed 8: Western Wall
