SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 6 SEPTEMBER 2016

Nexon Asia Pacific scored the highest during the evaluation process and has provided these
services since December 2013. Nexon has delivered reliable managed network services with
effective support and mature incident handling processes using expert technicians.

Nexon has provided optional services as non-confirming quotes:
 Refresh of network switch equipment;
 Network switches as a service; and
 Providing the backup telecommunications link to Sydney currently provided by BigAir Pty Ltd.

The evaluation panel deemed Nexon’s non-conforming quote to provide the primary link and
back up link to Sydney as not advantageous to Council. The evaluation panel recommends the
backup link be provided by a separate company (as is currently provided) to assist in ensuring
network availability if there is an issue within the Nexon network. It is recommended to continue
the contracted service for the backup link to Sydney with the current provider contracted directly
by Council.

It is not recommended Council award the non-conforming services, rather it is recommended
Council undertake a separate competitive procurement process for network switch hardware to
help ensure the best value solution to Council.

Nexon Asia Pacific is the preferred contractor for Portion D – Managed Network (without the
optional services).
