Subject: Material Change Application Ref MCU15/0082 From: denis sussmilch Date: 2015-09-28T06:51:40+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail The Chief Executive Officer, Noosa Council Dear Sir, With reference to the material change application Ref MCU 15/0082 on the vacant lot at 17 Emerald St, Cooroy to community use, Wellbeing Type 2- social, I would like to state that I support the application. The group has worked very hard over eighteen years building up funds for a new Heritage centre for Cooroy. Over this time, the dedicated members have also built up a very large collection of different sources of materials. There are problems in housing this collection at their present site. Some items kept in a shed are subject to mould and damp. Not good for paper. More space is needed in a purpose built building for better access to all material. A new Heritage Centre would enhance Cooroy by providing a centre with experienced volunteers to help the many visitors from near and far researching their families. A new Centre would provide a large collection of local history resources which the Cooroy library does not have. It would also provide a social centre for people of like minds involved in the quiet occupation of family research. Once again, I wish to state that I fully support this material change application made on behalf of the Cooroy-Noosa Genealogical & Historical research Group. Thank you, Joan Sussmilch Sent from Windows Mail
