Notice of SUbmission
File No MCU14/0106 - Noosa Civic Expansion
I am completely against the expansion of Noosa Civicfor the following
reasons.
• SUfficient shopping facilities already exist - There are plenty of
shops, supermarkets, discounts stores already in Noosa, more willonly
cause financial problems for existing shops and landlords.
• Won't enhance Noosa as a drawcard for tourists - Noosa can't
compete with the cities regarding shopping variety but we win hands
down with our natural beauty and beaches. More shops will not make
Noosa more attractive and could have downsides for both locals and
tourists with potential traffic grid locks and loss of our natural
environment.
• Traffic Lights - One of the lovelythings about Noosa is the lack of
traffic lights. However one newspaper reported the Noosa Civic
expansion submission included traffic lights to be installed at the corner
of Eenie Creek Road and EumundiRoad. This would make EumundiRoad a
regular gridlock area causing traffic hold ups at other round-abouts and
could end up meaning even more traffic lights on EumundiRoad.
