RECOMMENDATION

That Council note the report by the Environment Officer (Rivers and Coast) to the General
Committee dated 28 April 2014 and:

A.   Resolve to become a member of the Sunshine Coast Rivers Initiative; and

B.   Authorise the Chief Executive Office to appoint a delegate to represent Council on the
     Steering Committee.

REPORT

The purpose of this report is to inform Council about the Sunshine Coast Rivers Initiative, and to
seek its position regarding an invitation extended by the Rivers Initiative to Noosa Council to join
and participate in their Steering Group.
The Sunshine Coast Rivers Initiative is a consortium of over 30 community and industry groups
and government agencies who work to protect and improve the health of local waterways – the
Rivers Initiative partner logos are shown below.
