PROPOSAL
The applicant seeks an extension to the currency period for 3 months in order to complete the works in accordance with their approval.
background
A development approval for a Reconfiguring a Lot – 1 into 2 lots (REC16/0019) was issued on 1 August 2016.
The applicant has requested an extension to the currency period to the development approval under section 86 of the Planning Act 2016.

ASSESSMENT
In accordance with the decision notice the currency period was due to expire on the 1 August 2020.   Due to the COVID-19 emergency applicable event, any development approval under the Planning Act that is in effect until 31 October 2020 receives a further 6 months currency extension under section 275R of the Planning Act.  This development approval was in effect during the COVID-19 applicable event declared under 275F of the Planning Act 2016.
Therefore the currency period was due to expire once approval took effect.  Approval took effect on 3 February 2021.  The applicant applied for the extension on 25 January 2021.
The applicant requires more time to complete the drainage and access works to be completed in accordance with their decision notice and has requested a further 3 month extension to the currency period.
There are no issues with this and their request is supported.

conclusion
There are no issues associated with the request to extend the extension to currency period, as the development is consistent with Noosa Plan at the time it was approved and consistent with Noosa Plan 2020.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report regarding Application No. REC16/0019.01 for a Development Permit for Reconfiguring a Lot - Extension to Currency Period, situated at 8 Illoura Pl Cooroibah    described as Lot 35 RP 136462, and approve the extension to the currency period. The currency period ends for this development approval on 3 May 2021.
