Subject: FW: PROPOSED SERVICE STATION REPLACING MALUKA FRUITS ETC From: Mailbox Planning Date: 2018-02-23T05:47:12+00:00 To: Antoinette Becker From: Clytie Glass [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, 22 February 2018 6:25 PM To: Ingrid Jackson <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > Subject: PROPOSED SERVICE STATION REPLACING MALUKA FRUITS ETC Hi Ingrid, I just saw Kerry Coyle on the News talking about this proposed development and I’d like to lodge an objection. Having looked at the Council site I couldn’t see an area for lodgements. There fore I’d appreciate you forwarding this to the appropriate person/people. In my opinion another service station 300 metres from the two recently opened is unnecessary and inappropriate. Anyone who thinks it may create more price competition is deluded. There are already 4 servos in Noosaville, one in Doonan and 3 in Tewantin and still we have consistently high prices, Cooroy is cheaper and drive to Peregian and price drops up to 20c. The 2 businesses (that I’m aware of) which will be affected by the latest application and small businesses which should be encouraged. In particular the fruit and vegetable shop was rare competition for the major supermarkets and we’ve just had the f&v on Hilton Terrace close to make way for who knows what. I’m happy to talk to you if you have any questions or comments, Ingrid. Many thanks, Clytie Glass 🌺 0412 649 575
