10. Mail, Telephone and Internet Orders
Mail Order and Telephone Order (MOTO) transactions occur in an environment where the cardholder is not present to sign the voucher for the
goods or services provided. It is your responsibility to ensure that the person placing an order is the authorised owner of the plastic card
(refer to clause 10(b), clause 13(d) third bullet point, clause 14, clause 17(f) and clause 17(y) of the Merchant Terms and Conditions.
In the event of a dispute the onus is on the Merchant to prove the goods and services were provided to the authorised cardhol der. Proving
this in many cases may not be possible and can result in the full value of the transaction being debited to your account, plus any dispute fee.
Obtaining an authorisation does not confirm that the rightful owner of the card has performed the transaction.
Bendigo Bank may therefore request additional information about your business to assess your MOTO requirements and suitability. This
facility is generally made available to Merchants who have a Bendigo Bank Merchant facility for a minimum of 6 months.
