Dear Patrick,

45 Maple Street, Cooroy – Application No. MCU20/0027 RAL20/0004
Information Request response in relation to Traditional Character / Relocation issues

I refer to the current development application lodged in respect of the abovenamed property located
at 45 Maple Street, Cooroy and involving the proposed relocation of the traditional character house
situated on that site to an alternative location within the Noosa Council jurisdiction where its
protection from demolition protection is ensured. Vault Heritage Consulting Pty Ltd (VAULT) has
been commissioned by the property owner, Medicentre No. 2 Pty Ltd, to prepare a detailed response
to Council’s Information Request letter dated 8 May 2020 in relation to this development application.

It is noted that the range of traditional character issues raised by Council in the Information Request
letter relate to the location of the subject site containing the character house within the Cooroy –
Maple Street Character Area and the applicant’s intention to redevelopment the subject site as a
medical centre for radiology imaging services. Having due regard for the various issues raised by
Council, VAULT will review the various heritage / traditional character aspects of the proposal and
respond accordingly in relation to each. In order to inform the ongoing assessment of this
development application, the following analysis of the issues raised by Council and their applicability
to the proposal – having regard for the relevant provisions of the planning scheme has been
prepared for Council’s further consideration.

1. Council’s Information Request:

character and associated concerns related to the contextual Character Area setting of the subject
