Log in to see the plans as drawnThe radiant heat flux values for Methods 1 and 2 are compared as Bushfire Attack Levels (BALs) in Table 2 and Figure 9. The predicted fireline intensity for the adjacent forest assessed is in the “Medium” range, as indicated in State and Coluncil hazard mapping (Figure 4). Figure 9. Radiant Heat Flux Predicted by Methods 1 and 2. Application of Method 2 under AS3959-2018 demonstrates similar setbacks to be required as Method 1. A minimum setback of 13m will be provided to the closest wall, supporting column or post of any future dwelling. Within this space, Class 10a structures may be built, however if they are within 6m of the dwelling their construction shall be in accordance with AS3959-2018, Table 2 and Figure 9 above. The significance of the radiant heat flux levels discussed is shown below in Table 3. Table 3. Significance of various RHF levels (Source: NSW RFS, 2006) Report compiled by Bushfire Risk Reducers for Mr K. Courtney, January 2021 Page 15
