3. Emergency Event Notification

a) General comment

The bushfire response proposed by the Applicant is couched in the familiar Alert, Watch & Act, and
Emergency Warning protocol. However, this relies on early recognition of a bushfire by the Emergency
Services which would then initiate the Warnings. Unfortunately, residents who were here in August
2019, when the bushfire encroached on the southern end of The Fairways and the golf course and
came close to The Palms precinct, are not confident that this will provide the necessary warning. In
particular, several residents in The Fairways and The Palms precincts had evacuated themselves before
the Emergency Services arrived.

The Palms.
