Sustainability Strategy
7 2.1.6 Equipment The room appliances and equipment will be selected to be energy efficient and have shut-down or sleep options for when in use to minimise energy waste and heat loads building up in the rooms. 2.1.7 Pools The provision of pools can be a major source of energy consumption for treatment, filtration and heating. The selected pool systems will focus on energy efficiency with core consideration of the pool temperatures and the use of pool blankets to save energy when not in use, should operational issues be resolved. 2.2 Energy Sources Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels will be installed on-site to supply power to the development and the electricity grid. The roof will be designed to allow for a maximised array. The development also aims to use 100% renewable energy sources (Green Power) from grid purchased electricity.
