REPORT
This report provides the Council with the necessary recommendations to enable it to adopt its
Operational Plan, 2016/17 Budget and Organisational Structure.
Previous Council resolutions to adopt its annual budget have previously been reviewed by King
and Co. to ensure compliance with the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act and
Local Government Regulation.
The adoption of the Council’s 2016/17 Budget package is the culmination of six months of hard
work by Councillors and management to ensure that we build on the excellent work of the
previous Council in establishing a strong financial base.
I would also like to highlight the amount of work to prepare this budget by the Mayor, Councillors
and staff. Particular recognition should be provided to the Director Corporate Services and his
finance team for delivering a strong budget that will continue our financial sustainability journey.
Previous Council Consideration
The Council considered the draft Operational Plan, 2016/17 Budget and Organisational Structure
and its Special Meeting on 16 June 2016..
