Recommendations
1. It is suggested that consultations with DES are undertaken with submission of RE
Kit documents to DES to discuss viability of using the additional 0.79ha of RE
12.910.1, and additional 10.686ha of RE 12.3.11 that meets remnant status to
compensate for the lack of required RE 12.3.2 (0.7ha short of 5ha requirement).
Over time it is considered likely that the constitution of ecosystems in the Offfset
areas will continue to revert to the pre-clear gallery rainforest and associated RE’S
12.3.1a and 12.3.2.
2. It is recommended that negotiations are followed through with SEQ Water to
finalise the listing of OA’s as conservation offset areas (Category A- regulated
vegetation).
3. Upon the consent of the landowner a PMAV process can be undertaken using the
information provided in this assessment and the relevant supporting
documentation (RE Assessment Kit, Noosa Council Offset Site, document no.
220920-REA-D).
4. In the event that the landowner is not in agreeance to undertaking a PMAV of the
OA’s it may be possible to submit this report and the relevant supporting
documentation to the QLD herbarium for inclusion in their bi-annual remnant
mapping update. This would mean that upon QLD herbariums acceptance of the
data provided the relevant OA’s would be mapped as remnant vegetation therefore
fulfilling one of the requirement of the ORP.
