Dear Sir/Madam,
Comments on Application No: MCU13/0087, Lot 54 RP 139776 and Lot 3 RP
884396, Lot 54 RP 139776 & Lot 2 RP 889596
I write to say how sad it is that an esteemed body such as yours would even
consider this development.
The application by Coles takes away from the community a valued recreational area
which has existed over 40 years.
Surely big business cannot sway authorities when it comes to community assets and
the well being of those who use it. It is essential that recreational areas be retained
for the community at large. Government and local authorities have said that they
fully support people having outdoors facilities and exercise programs for all age
activities for over 250
groups. To rezone an area which is providing regular outdoor
local people and many many visitors is unthinkable.
If the area is to be rezoned then I believe that a part of this very large area should be
retained for recreational use. If it was bowls then it would be very easy for a cashed
and recreational
up organisation such as Coles to provide a facility for both business
use. In Belmont (Newcastle)a developer bought the bowls club, built a shopping
arcade, and included bowling greens/club facilities on the upper level.
I am fully against the change of use for this site.
Yours faithfully,
RJ’~C7D~
