James Kennedy & Stacey Ham 1/11 Opal Street, Cooroy 4563 [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> I am writing in regard to the proposed development at Crackerjack Bowls Club, located next door to our home. We generally support the planned changes, particularly the relocation of the playground from the eastern to the western side of the building. This adjustment is a positive step, as the current playground location has resulted in ongoing noise impacts on our household. The amplified sound of children playing carries clearly into our home, making it difficult to relax, so we are hopeful this change will lead to an improvement in our day-to-day living conditions. We also understand the eastern side is proposed to become a storage and delivery area, and that section will be de-licensed. While we’re not opposed to this, we feel it’s important to raise a concern about existing noise disturbances from that part of the premises. At present, we’re frequently disrupted by late-night kitchen pack-down activities, including loud conversations, the banging of bins, and bottles being dumped into bins — often just metres from our bedroom window. Our concern is that increasing the use of this space for storage and deliveries may amplify these disturbances, particularly at night and early in the mornings. We simply ask that this be taken into account during the planning process. We raise these concerns not in opposition to the development, but to ensure that existing challenges are considered and not unintentionally worsened. We’re hopeful that with thoughtful planning, the changes can benefit both the nearby residents and the bowls club. Thank you for your time and consideration.
