SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA 28 OCTOBER 2019
The provision of a detailed management covenant for the Asset Protection Zones of lots 13
-15. This would include acceptable uses and exclusions e.g. concrete parking bays or
similar is acceptable and proposed.
The BMP also makes reference to the following fire management measures:
The patch of vegetation north of Area 2 (Lots 23 -25) in the National Park should be
considered for a cooperative hazard reduction burn with National Parks. This would only be
needed on a once in 7-10 year cycle.
The entire Park area south to Eenie Creek should also have management that would
include hazard reduction burning.
The BMP maintains that the use of a Body Corporate system does not improve the
effectiveness of the covenant as the required management is detailed in the covenant
document for each Lot.
Further, the applicant has recently undertaken significant vegetation removal on the site which
the applicant determined to be essential urgent bushfire management. The areas which were
cleared are identified in yellow below in Figure 10 and are generally 20 metres wide. There is an
existing approved BMP for the SBC and the recent works were not in accordance with this BMP.
No approval was obtained from Council prior to the works being undertaken. The extent of the
vegetation removal is identified in yellow in the following image with the 20 metre wide clearing
generally in an east-west direction.
