Noosa Library Service commenced in 1973, and is one of Council’s most visible, highly utilised and
valued services to the community. While the lending and reading of books are a core element of
Noosa’s public library service, the service and program delivery extends well beyond this.
Key themes of service delivery include reading, learning, literacy, heritage, community services,
technology and being a community hub. This is reflected in the broad range of collections, services
and activities that support educational, recreational and creative endeavours across the region. Our
Noosa Libraries are a classroom, loungeroom, office, research centre, social club, gallery, meeting
room, venue, makerspace, science lab, playground and safe haven... all in the one day. Our resources
are highly accessible as they are physical, digital and mobile.
