1/25 Edward St, Noosaville, Qld 4566
Other change to include Short Term Accommodation (Multiple Housing Type 2 Duplex &
Operational Works)
Dear Sir
I refer to the above development application which is presently being publicly notified due to
being an impact assessable development. Noosa Shire Council is the assessment manager for
this development application.
I wish to object to this development application and request that the application be refused by
Council.
I am the owner of an adjoining dwelling and this dwelling is my permanent place of residence. I
have been a permanent resident of the Noosa EGA for the last ^ years.
Those grounds on which I have based my objection include, but are by no means limited to, the
following:
1. This adjoining premises located at 1/25 Edward Street, Noosaville, has been operating as a
short-term accommodation use for about the last 2 to 2.5 years. During this time, we have
been subjected to frequent partying and socialising within the adjoining premises by guests
who are staying in this premises for short periods of time and are clearly on holidays. Typically,
this socialising takes place on the outdoor deck at the rear of the adjoining premises, and
involves loud voices/fhe said partying occurs typically on multiple occasions per week and on
the majority of weeks per year.
2. The pool area is heavily used by the short- term accommodation renters, especially by those
with small children. It is not unusual for the pool to be used for 4+ hours every day during
short terms stays. Small children with loud and squealing voices can scream with joy, which in
turns significantly penetrates into adjoining dwellings. This disturbance of our quiet enjoyment
generally causes us to close windows and doors adjoining the short-term accommodation
property, and turn on our air-conditioning.
3. There appears to be a total lack of awareness and/or disregard by the guests and the owner of
this adjoining premises to the fact that this adjoining premises is located in a residential area.
4. Our home, like so many in the area, is constructed to enjoy the fresh air and breezes the
Noosa lifestyle provides. But on many occasions, this lifestyle is negatively impacted due to
excessive noise and loud voices from the adjoining short-term accommodation premise. At
night time, this disturbance forces us to retreat behind closed doors.
