RE: Ridgewood Poultry Farm Development Application

 

I am a concerned Cooroy resident and would like to submit an Objection to the development application, MCU12/0184 136 Top Forestry Rd Ridgewood - Animal Husbandry type 2 Poultry Farm - W Donald Milligan Pty Ltd.  

 

The lack of community consultation on this project is not acceptable - particularly for a development application that can have major impacts on both human residents, wildlife and waterways.

 

I am concerned particularly about the harmful impact of this proposal on the Ridgewood Community, the native Wildlife in the area as well as the Waterways and land. Many residents are active Land For Wildlife members, who actively work to regenerate and support optimal bush regeneration and native flora and fauna protection. In the Ridgewood area, Blackfella creek is a beautiful waterway with clear water and platypus living along the creek. This creek will bear the brunt of the polluted runoff and it is unacceptable that this will destroy the wildlife and ammenity of the area. Intensive poultry farms have major issues with pollution and contamination of both air and waterways – so for this to be allowed in an area with many residents and sensitive native corridors is unacceptable.

 

I urge you to consider these objections and stop the poultry farm going ahead to preserve this area for all to enjoy.
