mapping. regional ecosystem 12.3.2 is described as ‘Eucalyptus grandis tall open forest on alluvial
plains’. However, the site assessment determined that the vegetation more closely aligns with regional
ecosystem 12.3.11a: Open-forest of Eucalyptus tereticornis and/or E. siderophloia, Lophostemon
confertus with vine forest understorey. Other canopy species include Corymbia intermedia, Araucaria
cunninghamii and Agathis robusta. Frequently occurring understorey species include Flindersia spp.,
Lophostemon suaveolens, L. confertus, Cupaniopsis parvifolia, Acronychia spp., Alphitonia excelsa and
Acacia disparrima subsp. disparrima. Occurs on sub-coastal Quaternary alluvial plains. This area will

4.1.3 Vegetation Community 3: Melaleuca forest

Vegetation within this community consists of a remnant Melaleuca forest. Species present include broad
leaved paperbark (Melaleuca quinquenervia), swamp box (Lophostemon suaveolens), pink bloodwood
(Corymbia intermedia) and Queensland blue gum (Eucalyptus tereticornis). The midstory consists of
species such cabbage palm (Livistona australis), umbrella cheese tree (Glochidion sumatranum),
cheese tree (Glochidion ferdinandi), black she-oak (Allocasuarina littoralis), soap tree (Alphitonia
excelsa) and juvenile canopy species. This community has a low level of weed incursion. The site slope
beneath this community range from flat to gently sloping. The canopy height is up to 20m with an
estimated canopy cover of 60-70%. This community is mapped as Category B (remnant) regional
ecosystem 12.3.4 under the DOR mapping. Regional ecosystem 12.3.4 is described as Melaleuca
quinquenervia, Eucalyptus robusta woodland on coastal alluvium. The site assessment confirmed this
description. This area will not be impacted by the proposed house.
