Native Foresters 4.3 Fauna assessment No threatened fauna species were recorded within the surveyed IA however vegetated habitats surrounding the IA at 36 Roses Road support the breeding and habitation requirements of a moderate diversity of Least Concern native fauna. Skyring Creek provides potential habitat for threatened amphibian Tusked frog (Adelotus brevis), however no individuals were located during the survey using aural call back. There is also potentially suitable habitat for Special Least Concern Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) to the west of the impact area. A targeted search for burrows or signs (e.g. tracks, scats) of the species was undertaken with no evidence found during the survey. No Koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus) or evidence of Koalas was found within the survey area, however WildNET records indicate that the species occurs within the surrounding 1 kilometre radius. The impact area is not mapped Koala habitat. While the habitat to the south-east of the survey area is considered suitable to support movement and habitation of Koalas, it is small in size and is bounded by the road and cleared agricultural areas which reduce its habitat connectivity and ecological value for the species. A list of fauna species recorded during the survey is provided in Table 5 and some of these are shown in Figure 4. 36 Roses Road, Federal – Fauna & Flora Assessment 23
