9.1 Flood Warning - during a rainfall/flood event Members of the public can access near real-time rainfall and water level readings from these stations via the BoM website. Observing the readings for the Garnet St and Elm St stations can provide residents in the vicinity of Highland Drive with some warning as to whether upstream flood levels are continuing to rise or are receding. Readings from the Liane Drive station can also be accessed however these will not provide sufficient warning to nearby residents. Recorded rainfall and water levels for these gauges can be accessed in the following manner: Go to www.bom.gov.au From the top menu banner select QLD and then Rainfall & River Conditions Users can then choose to display indicators via the map by selecting Zoom in to: menu on the right side of screen and then selecting Mary River. This will display locations for rainfall and river height stations. For water levels select River Conditions from the Display on Map box and click on a station to display a chart of the readings. Users can also choose to navigate directly to the station data by selecting Rainfall & River Data from the Other Links: menu. Once selected, choose the Mooloolah, Maroochy, Noosa, Mary data link from the Latest River Height Data selection. Stations within the Six Mile Creek catchment will be displayed within the Mary River basin station sets. Click Plot to display a graph of the water levels for each station.
