that any change in the view would be
imperceptible due to the nature of the slim
structure and relatively small (approximately 20
metre) section of monopole that would rise
above the surrounding landform and vegetation.
These views include several other built elements
located between the town centre and the
national park such as the railway corridor and
several existing power lines, adding to the visual
absorption capacity of the landscape.

along Arthy’s Road negligible visual impact.
Arthy’s Road is located on a ridgeline, extending
north-south through the Cooran Tablelands,
north of Cooran. The landform between this
road and the proposal site is undulating and
hilly. Properties on the western side of Arthy’s
Road have middle distance views to the
proposed monopole. Views to the proposal site
are obstructed by roadside vegetation along
field boundaries and within fields, and within
the gardens surrounding the dwellings.
The monopole would be glimpsed, from several
rural properties in locally elevated locations. The
upper section of the monopole would be seen in
the middle ground of views, rising above the
surrounding vegetation, and would be a vertical
element in this otherwise rolling landscape.
(Refer to Figure 6-37)
Similarly, during construction, the installation of
the tower would be seen above the surrounding
vegetation, creating some contrast with the
surrounding landscape.
Overall, there would be a low level of
modification to these views, which are of
neighbourhood sensitivity, resulting in a minor
adverse visual impact.
6.5.6. Views from the Cooran township
The distance between the proposal site and the
township of Cooran is approximately 2km, so
