3.3 Significant Species
During the site inspection a single Endangered, Vulnerable, Near Threatened (EVNT) flora species
were recorded within the site, being the Macadamia Nut (Macadamia integrifolia). EVNT flora species
are discussed further in Section 5.3 of this report. Given the current use of the site as rural residential
properties with horse agistment, it is considered unlikely that EVNT flora species are present within
the site. Further, historic modification in hydrology including earthworks in the formation of dams was
noted.
EPBC Protected Matters and the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP) Wildlife
Online data searches were undertaken to locate records of flora species that have been recorded in
the locality of the site in the past. These searches were used to identify species protected under State
or Commonwealth Legislation. A number of species were returned by these searches as listed to
occur within a 1 km radius of the site. The likelihood of these species occurring on site was then
assessed and these species were targeted in fieldwork. Table 1, below, summarises the significant
flora species and their likely occurrence on the site, in the context of the site location and habitat
available.
