Appendix M - Ecology Report
37 The proposed Concept Master Plan details a sensitive use of the site and consolidates development within the northern extent of the site to minimise ecological impacts. This Detailed Ecological Assessment of the site has identified a number of ecological constraints and opportunities and developed recommendations to address potential impacts of the proposal. It is clear that siting of the proposed Concept Master Plan is within an area of the site that has generally lower ecological values with the most significant ecological features retained and enhanced as part of the proposal. Through the implementation of mitigation and management measures recommended within this assessment and the associated Natural Hazard Assessment, it is S5 Environmental’s opinion that the regional habitat node located on the site and associated with the adjoining Tewantin National Park and the local ecological corridor within the site will be retained and enhanced as part of the proposal. The Concept Master Plan for Cooroy Care Farm is an outstanding example of sensitive ecological design which enhances natural area and amenity values.
