SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 9 AUGUST 2022
It has been recommended that the effective date of the commencement of the amended policy
be 1 July 22 to align with budget and reporting timeframes.
The relevant financial limits contained in the policy are in line with that of other similar sized
Queensland councils. The increased provision will support the increased representation of
Noosa Councillors at the LGAQ Conference and increase Councillor professional development
opportunities noting the increased costs of attending conferences, workshops, courses etc.
Risks & Opportunities
Council is required to publish in its Annual Report the details of expenses incurred by, and the
facilities provided to, each Councillor during the relevant financial year under the Policy. Any
failure to comply with the requirements and limits of this policy could result in reputational
damage to Council for failing to meet the community’s expectations.
