54.    Following the Ordinary meeting, a number of residents in the region arranged a petition titled ‘Parking
       concerns Quamby Place’ which attracted 181 signatures to lobby Council to make changes that would
       remedy the situation on this one street alone. Listed under ‘public solutions/suggestions’, the petition
       specifically suggests providing a location for people “to store their trailers in a secure convenient industrial
       facility” i.e. a self-storage facility in an industrial area. The proposed extension to the existing facility seeks
       to meet this demand, providing a purpose-built area for the outdoor storage of boats, caravans, trailers
       and the like on an accessible and suitably located site.

55.    It is sought that Council consider the demonstrated overriding community need for the expansion of the
       self-storage premises on the site to accommodate vehicles and trailers currently being stored on
       residential streets as an ‘other relevant matter’, when deciding the proposed Material Change of Use
       application.
