This request includes updated fencing plans setback 500mm from the boundary and not
strictly in accordance with the minimum 1m setback. Although not strictly complying the
proposal proposes the following design outcome:

Front fence design pushed back from the front boundary a minimum 500mm to the
outermost projection;

The fence runs perpendicular & parallel to the buildings, not the boundary,
meaning some parts of the fence are setback as far as 4.5m, 3.1m & 2.7m, well
beyond the 1m requirement.

The front fence is highly articulated, made from a combination of timber battens,
aluminium slats, rendered masonry and aluminium gates;

Should the fence run parallel with the front boundary and setback 1m, there will be
a supply of 31.9m2 of landscaping between the boundary and fence. Our stepped
fence design, setback 500mm from the boundary, provides 36.4m2 of landscaping.
The stepped fence design provides a unique breakup of mass and visual interest
and provides each street facing residence with its own sense of address.
