GENERAL COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS

1   NOOSA COAST GUARD - REQUEST FOR MEMORIAL WALL
    General Committee Recommendation
    That Council note the report by the Manager Design Services to the Infrastructure &
    Services Committee Meeting dated 22 July 2014 and not approve the installation of a
    Memorial Wall at the Noosa River mouth and the Chief Executive Officer be authorised to
    discuss with the Coastguard other possible options for a similar wall in other parts of the
    ocean or riverine environment.

    Seconded:        Cr Pardon
    That Council note the report by the Manager Design Services to the Infrastructure &
    Services Committee Meeting dated 22 July 2014 and approve the installation of a Memorial
    Wall at the Noosa River mouth to be managed by the Noosa Coast Guard, subject to the
    following conditions:
    1.   Noosa Coast Guard shall bear the full cost of the construction of the Memorial Wall
         and all future maintenance to an acceptable standard;
    2.   The final design location of the wall and the design of the plaques shall be approved
         by Council’s Design Services Manager; and
    3.   Noosa Coast Guard shall enter into a 1 year renewable agreement with Noosa
         Council to cover installation, management and maintenance of the memorial.
    The Motion was Lost.

    discuss with the Coastguard other possible options for a similar wall in other parts of the
    Noosa Shire.
