GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 18 DECEMBER 2017

A governance structure for the implementation of these initiatives is currently being finalised.
The structure proposes the formation of a Transport Strategy Steering Group (to provide
oversight of the whole project) and four Working Groups on each of the priority initiatives as
follows:
     Noosa style Shuttle Bus and Park & Ride Service Working Group;
     Car Parking Management Working Group;
 Walk-and-Ride to Schools Program Working Group; and
 Priority Transport Lanes Working Group.
It is proposed that the Mayor and two Councillors be nominated as members of the Steering
Group and one Councillor be nominated to each Working Group. Nominations have been
discussed with Councillors and are provided in the report recommendation.

2.     Audit and Risk Committee
At the Ordinary Meeting on 28 April 2016, Council appointed the Mayor and Cr Jackson as
members of Council’s Audit and Risk Committee. The Audit and Risk Committee is a statutory
requirement under the Local Government Act and the Committee reports directly to Council and
has an important role in managing risk, oversight of financial controls, liaison with Council’s
auditors and also the review of Council’s financial statements.
It is proposed that membership of that Committee now be amended to replace Cr Jackson with
Cr Jurisevic. Cr Jurisevic has advised that he is supportive of the proposal.
