4.0                  PRE- AND POST-DEVELOPMENT URBS MODELS

4.1                  Model Set-Ups

The model set-up for the pre-development scenario is shown in Figure 2, below. The model structure
has 13subareas spread across six branches, or from one to three subareas for each branch of the model.
This is comfortably more than the usually-preferred minimum of five subareas for an overall model, but
somewhat less than a minimum of five subareas per branch. Overall, the degree of model subdivision is
suggested to be adequate for the preliminary nature of this design study.

The corresponding coding of the Urbs catchment file for this pre-development scenario can be seen in
Appendix B hereto.
