environmental management ecological assessment report 5.1. Recommendations Based on the field survey and the current proposal layout, the following parameters have been recommended for this and future development applications: 5.11 Vegetation Clearing and Management Plan A Vegetation Clearing and Management Plan (VCMP) should form part of the broader management document submitted as part of the Operational Works application. = Clearly shown trees to either be removed or retained = Allcivil works likely to impact on existing vegetation = Temporary and permanent exclusion and protection fencing = Roles and responsibilities for site contractors = Stockpiling and access locations = Aclearing sequence plan showing the commencement of clearing = Links to weed management and revegetation proposals (specifically for Declared Pest species) = The stock piling and reuse of cleared vegetation = Specific details on the removal of previously identified potential fauna habitat trees = Where trees are to be retained within disturbance zones they should be accompanied by an arborist’s report incorporated into the VCMP 5.12 Fauna Management Plan A Fauna Management Plan (FMP) should be prepared for potential impacts of the construction phase covering the loss of vegetated areas, isolated trees and likely barriers and impediments to local fauna dispersal. The FMP should link closely with the VCMP and include details on: = Species surveyed using the site with a focus on those most likely impacted by development works = Alist of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation constraints and controls for the above listed fauna = Aplan showing existing habitat opportunities and locations = Details of the threats to existing fauna species = Clearing sequence from the VCMP = Management and mitigation measures — could include temporary use of fauna exclusion fencing = Fauna spotter role, contacts and certification = Specific fauna management procedures for potential known habitat trees Sisaunders havill group Page 34
