environmental management
ecological assessment report
1. Introduction
The Environmental Management Division of Saunders Havill Group was engaged by Verve Building Design and
Concepts to prepare an Ecological Assessment Report for the proposed Cooroy Centre Development at Myall
Street, Cooroy. This report provides a review of the site’s ecological values in accordance with Commonwealth,
State and Local Government legislation and is intended to support a development application to Noosa Shire
Council for a Material Change of Use (MCU). The site layout is provided in Appendix A.
The subject site covers approximately 6.7 hectares and is approximately 1 km south of Cooroy town centre (refer
to site context and aerial maps at Figure 1& Figure 2). The site is fragmented by major arterial networks (Ferrells
Road to the north-west, Bruce Highway to the south-west and Myall Street to the north-east), and is surrounded
by a mixture of rural and residential land uses. The site has been extensively cleared with vegetated areas
concentrated along the property boundaries and the waterway that traverses its south-eastern portion.
