REVEGETATION SPECIFICATIONS REVEGETATION DESIGN The Rehabilitation Area (Vegetation Covenants) includes approximately 1.02ha of land which is host to sparse vegetation density with high percentage of pasture grass presence (refer Plate D). This area will require direct revegetation of suitable native species. Revegetation is to include species drawn from the species palette listed in Tables 2 and 3 to achieve the performance criteria listed in Table 4 (refer RP06). Plate D —- Example of denuded area (foreground) REVEGETATION METHODOLOGY The methodology for the revegetation program is to generally occur in the following chronological order: Revegetation Area 1 1. Clearly mark any existing native species that may be obscured within the weed control areas to prevent incidental damage during site preparation and weed control activities. Slash entire revegetation zone. 3. Undertake comprehensive weed control, including control/removal of woody weed species. 4. Delineate planting rows and stem locations N 5. Apply herbicide treatment to each planting location (500mm radius spray zone around stem location) 6. Once herbicide treatment has taken effect, install Canopy and Small Trees. 7. Water in plants as required. 8. Apply mulch. 9. | Undertake maintenance for duration of the 12 month maintenance period. 10. Slash reemergent grass between planting rows. 11. After completion of 9 months maintenance apply herbicide to remaining grass cover and install understorey species. Revegetation Area 2 1. Undertake comprehensive weed control, including control/removal of woody weed species as well as herbicide treatment of all herbaceous weeds and pasture grasses. Once herbicide treatment has taken effect, plants can be installed. Water in plants as required. Apply mulch. Undertake maintenance for duration of the 12 month maintenance period. a RWN W North Coast Environmental Services Environmental Management Consultants PO Box 385 Peregian Beach OLD 4573, COVENANT REHABILITATION PLAN fewooezs ww025 !33 PAVILION STREET, POMONA QLD (4RP809059) A PLANTING METHOLOGY Planting Once weed treatment has taken effect, individual planting holes are to be manually dug or by mechanical auger at the densities prescribed within this Plan. Plants are to be provided as 50mm native tubestock. As a minimum, all tubestock is required to: ¢ Have a significantly established root system; ¢ Not display signs of ‘yellowing’, leaf or stem damage or disease, root curling/girdling or restriction related to being ‘pot bound’; e Shrubs to have a single, straight trunk that is a minimum of 25cm tall for 50mm tube-stock; and e¢ Be sun hardened. Planting must not occur unless soil moisture is adequate; . All stock must be watered immediately prior to planting; . All planting holes are to be pre-watered prior to installation of tubestock; and ° Apply an initial establishment watering and continue to water as required to ensure survival. Mulch Each plant installed on a slope of <1:3 gradient is to have a minimum 500mm radius ‘ring’ of organic mulch (e.g., sugar can mulch or forest blend) applied to a depth of 100mm and adequate mulch covering must also be present at the point of off-maintenance (i.e., minimum 50mm mulch coverage should be available). Tip mulch is prohibited due to high weed propagule content. Each plant installed on a slope of >1:3 gradient and below the top of bank (inclusive of the external batter of the bio basin) of all waterways (both permanent and intermittent) are to be protected by a 400mm radius coir mat fastened with a single min 300mm stake/pin. Plant Diversit The following minimum diversity must be implemented: Revegetation Area 1 *« Canopy Trees and Small Trees/Shrubs — No less than 5 species from Table 2; Understorey species — No less than 3 species from Table 2 PSP DEVELOPMENTS PTY LTD [<== PRELIMINARY Revegetation Area 2 « Small Trees — No less than 3 species from Table 3, Understorey species — No less than 3 species from Table 3 NOTE: No canopy species are to be planted within Revegetation Area 2. Plant Density Revegetation Area 1 * Canopy Trees & Small Trees 3m centres and Understorey species 2m centres Revegetation Area 2 « Small Trees 3m centres, Understorey species 1m centres Edge Treatment (refer RP-02) A dense linear edge planting treatment is to be provided to the perimeter of the Rehabilitation Areas as specified by yellow linework on RP02 and as follows: « 1x row of alternating Lomandra hystrix and shrub/small tree species at 1m centres * Shrub species to comprise Alphitonia excelsa, Syzgium smithil, & Melaleuca viminalis NOTE: Planting location of the general edge treatment should be setback a minimum of 0.5m from the edge of the Rehabilitation Areas, allowing for the mature growth size of Lomandra spp. Planting Species Palette A list of suitable species to be used is presented in Tables 2 & 3. Additional species may be used if they are locally indigenous to the Regional Ecosystem 12.3.2 Eucalyptus grandis talf open forest on alluvial plains. Where the species listed are not available at time of works then similar native alternatives that occur within the local vegetation communities may be utilised. Species substitution must be approved by NSC.
