With regard to Submission on MCUI3/0087 - 99 Noosa Drive, 3 & 29 Lanyana Way, Noosa Heads:
I like to say NO to the rezoning of the Junction.
I would like to state that I object to the development of the area:
As the new Noosa Council is to be formed in January, 2014, I think it is irresponsible for Sunshine Coast Council to make decisions affecting the new Council area.
We do not want a noisy, late night tavern. The location is in a valley surrounded by homes on Noosa hill and homes on the hill behind the junction – the sound would travel and magnify in the area.
There are enough liquor stores in the area at present without introducing another.
The junction is full of empty shops at present, from small ones to large area shops; we don’t want more shops. Even if the new shops are occupied, they will surely result in other shops in the junction closing. The junction area is not going to increase in population, requiring more shops.
Before the Noosa Heads Bowls Club, the area contained a squash court, both recreational facilities and that’s what the area should remain.
I trust you will give the above some consideration when considering the application,
Thank you,
Don Wikner
