MCU12/0184 Objection - Sue Carauna James Bird
Subject: FW: Submission to Noosa Council From: [email protected] Date: 2014-08-19T05:13:52+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail This concerns application no MCU12/0184------------------------------------------ 22 August 2014 Attention: Jack Lewis, Planning Officer Dear Mr Lewis, We are writing to express our concern about the adverse effects the poultry farm would have on our family, if the development application is approved. We have lived on this property for fourteen years, so are very familiar with Top Forestry Road. We use the road several times a day, since our son travels to school on the bus that leaves at the corner of the Applicant's property, and we travel to work and for business. Our biggest concern is the traffic along Top Forestry Road and its future condition, if heavy vehicles are regularly use it. This narrow, winding road could not be widened enough for B-doubles and semitrailers to safely share with ordinary cars, not to mention other big trucks. The property driveways along this road, Old Ceylon Road and Cooroy-Belli Creek Road are often not easily seen, adding to the danger. Since the Applicant intends now to transport the chicken litter away, this will add even more traffic to that of trucks supplying and taking away the chickens, delivering feed and fresh litter, and the heavy traffic during the construction stage. We are also greatly concerned about air pollution, since the dust created by these farms often carries an unacceptable level of arsenic and possibly pathogens. Since we are not on town water, and rely on tank water for drinking, the dust that will pollute our tank water is a very real concern. We also worry that the value of our property is sure to fall. We request that you do not approve this Development Application. Yours sincerely, Sue Carauna James Bird 341 Top Forestry Road, Ridgewood, QLD 4563
