5.2 State Planning Policy (SPP)
The proposed development site contains and adjoins bushfire hazard areas and as such the proposed
development requires assessment against the interim development assessment requirements of Part E of the
SPP.
Based on the previously presented information, an assessment of the levels of compliance that the proposed
development achieves with the interim development assessment requirements of Part E of the SPP is presented
in Table 5-3.

Requirement Response
Development:
(1) avoids natural hazard areas or mitigates the The proposed development will constitute development within a
risks of the natural hazard to an acceptable or bushfire hazard area. As detailed in Section 4 and Section 5.1 a
tolerable level range of hazard reduction and response measures would be
implemented and the associated risk posed by bushfire in the
locality would be less than that to which the existing Noosa Civic
development is exposed.
(2) supports, and does not unduly burden, The proposed development would not unduly burden bushfire
disaster management response or recovery management response or recovery capacity and capabilities. In
capacity and capabilities fact the proposed development would improve the capacity for
safe and effective bushfire response in the vicinity of the existing
Noosa Civic development.
