Information Request Response Report - Ecology
Noosa Civic Expansion
quadrangularis restricted to the Burnett District and north-eastern districts. An update to the census on
27/06/2013 seems to have resulted in all L. membranacea of the Moreton District being placed in L.
quadrangularis. L. membranacea is restricted to northern districts (i.e. not present within the Moreton
District). Additional information is within the Supplementary Ecological Assessment Report (28/04/15).
The applicant is confident Allocasuarina emuina, Eucalyptus conglomerate, Pararistolochia praevenosa and
Glycine argyrea are not present (refer to the Supplementary Ecological Assessment Report (28/04/15)).
As per response to 59(a), no additional species of conservation significance were observed within the Study
Area. As such, Figure 7 has not been updated.
The Study Area is described in the Noosa Civic State and Local Government Ecological Assessment Report,
and Supplementary Ecological Assessment Report. The entire Study Area (i.e. the disturbance footprint and
the balance of Lot 3 on SP246584) has been traversed and surveyed by means of an ‘educated walk’. This
method targeted threatened species identified from desktop assessment based on their known habitat
preferences.
2.5 Presence of Conservation Significant Species
2.5.1 Request Item 60
60. Provide a Significant Species Management Plan, which addresses all known and potentially occurring
significant species. The Significant Species Management Plan should provide:
a. detailed figures showing all significant habitat/s,
b. known significant species locations,
c. mitigation and management responses, and
d. monitoring requirements.
2.5.2 Response to Item 60
A conservation significant species management plan has not been provided. This matter is in part addressed
by our response to 59a-c. The existing ecology report includes mitigation measures that will in part address
significant species. Notwithstanding the response to 59a-c, there are no confirmed significant species within
the footprint (other than the Koala and Wallum Froglet for which mitigation measures are outlined in our
ecological study). The applicant will accept a condition as part of an approval package to prepare a
Conservation Significant Species Management Plan.
2.6 Presence of Conservation Significant Species
2.6.1 Request Item 61
61. Provide a Habitat Management Plan for species of conservation significance which details management
and mitigation actions of potential impacts to retained habitats for construction and operational phases of the
development.
2.6.2 Response to Item 61
The Construction Environment Management Plan, Bushfire Management Plan and Covenant Interface
Management Plan address many of the issues that would be considered in a Habitat Management Plan. The
applicant will accept a condition as part of an approval package to prepare a Habitat Management Plan.
2.7 Legibility of Figures
2.7.1 Request Item 62
62. Supply Figure 2 with improved legend to allow clear definition of values shown.
2.7.2 Response to Item 62
An amended figure is provide as Appendix A of this report.
