Mr. D. Colston,
24 Currawong Crescent,
PEREGIAN BEACH, QLD. 4573
Dear Sir,
RE: Proposed Driveway/Parking Structure on,
Road Reserve adjacent to Lot 368 on CP P93115,
24 Currawong Crescent, PEREGIAN BEACH.
OUR REFERENCE: 21/8744
We have been engaged to report on the stability of the above parking structure with particular
attention to the imposed loadings and other actions specified for carparks in AS1170.1:2002
Clause 3.8 (a)(1) Barriers for Light Traffic Areas. This requires the ability to withstand an
accidental impact of 30 KN at a height of 0.5 metres above the surface from a vehicle parking
and acting over a length of 1.5 metres.
We are told the original structure was built in 1986 and renovated in 2003.
The structure is currently being renovated again.
At the time the original structure was built in 1986, the impact outlined above was to be
resisted by tying the structure back to three concrete anchors each about 450mm in diameter
and a 1 metre in length buried well beneath the structure. The attached drawing supplied by
Mr. Colston shows details of the structure and the tieback arrangements. Investigation since
has confirmed the presence of the concrete anchor blocks. We are assured fixed Wheel Stops
will be provided.
Based on the information supplied and our examination of the site we consider the finished
structure will meet the requirements for carparks in Clause 3.8 of AS1170.1:2002.
Yours faithfully,
CROCKER & ASSOCIATES PTY. LTD.
