Felix,

 

 

With regards to the above project, we have now received the tenders for the civil works and unfortunately the costs are too high, thus making the project feasibility questionable.

 

Therefore, we have spoken with our client, and he has agreed to extend the timeframe by a further two (2) weeks so that we can meet with you and try and resolve some better efficiencies in the OPW design before relodging with Council.

 

We request that the current “stop the clock” period be extended by a further 10 business days (to 14th November 2025) which will then make the agreed Decision Making period end on 28th November 2025.

 

Can Tim and I also make a time to come and meet with you to discuss various design changes that we are considering so that we have agreement before making the design changes and resubmitting.

 

What times are you available on either Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday next week (4-6th November) ?

Hi Evelyn,

 

As discussed, the decision period is due to conclude tomorrow (10 October 2025), and insufficient detail has been provided to demonstrate compliance with the relevant provisions of The Noosa Plan 2020.

 

Council is unable to “stop the current period” in accordance section 32.5 with the DA Rules. To allow time to address Council’s Further Advice and for Council assess the response, it is strongly recommended that you submit a request to extend the decision period by 10 business days. 

 

You are advised that if an extension request is not received by 2:00PM Friday 10th of October, Council will be forced to decide the application which is likely to include a Preliminary Approval or a Refusal.

Thanks for sending through the Further Advice. We aim to provide Council with our response as soon as possible.

 

Apologies, I missed your call earlier.

 

After discussing with our client, they would prefer to proceed with a “Stop the Clock” request rather than granting a full 20-business-day extension. The intention is for the assessment period to pause while we prepare the further advice response, and then resume once Council receives our formal submission. At that stage, the client would be agreeable to offering a short extension to the decision period if needed.

 

Could you please confirm via email or give me a call to advise if this approach works for Council? Also, please let me know if an additional extension to the decision period will still be required, and if so, how much time would be appropriate.
