Re.: MCU18/0166 Development Permit for a Material Change of Use
Telecommunications facility at 244 Tablelands Road Cooran
Please receive my objection to the above proposed telecommunication facility.
This proposed tower would have an enormous impact to the visual amenity of our
rural township. The majority of properties located in this area regard the scenic
aspect of the rural amenity as the most prominent of all.
The renowned Noosa Trail Network is a major attraction to the area. Thousands of
visitors frequent this walking track to enjoy the wonderful scenic outlooks at
various intervals along the many kilometer of the track. The section of Trail 3
linking James McKane Memorial Lookout and Arthys Road is perhaps the most
used of the Trail network. This proposed Tower would be seen from many vantage
points along this track, with a direct and clear view of most of the proposed tower
structure visible and the antenna and upper half of the tower outlined by the sky.
This in the terms of the applicants own scaling of visual impact rates in the high
category.
Inclusive is the impact of the views of the surrounding properties and those lying
to lower road network looking up towards the ridge. Many of which would suffer
high to medium visual impacts.
I call on Council to ensure the very policies put in place to protect this wonderful
rural landscape are upheld and this development be refused.
Yours truly,
Jennifer Clark
