PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 25 FEBRUARY 2014
Standard Engineering Drawings
Standard Drawings for Infrastructure greatly influence the look and feel of our urban environment
and the cost of civil design projects. Officers of Noosa Council have been revising engineering
standards in line with updated Australian Standards and State Government standard drawings,
as well as providing for infrastructure that is aesthetically pleasing and pedestrian friendly.
Current best practise in urban design includes outcomes that respond to climate change and
reduce environmental impact, increasing Noosa’s “point of difference”. Engineering design
standards are included in Planning Scheme Policy No 5 and No. 6 that accompany the planning
scheme.
Privately owned land in the Community Services or Open Space Recreation Zone
The planning scheme needs to be clear of the intention of such land should the current use be
discontinued. This is likely to be dependent of the size and location of the site and the particular
needs of its surrounding community.
FINANCE & RISK
This recommended action can be accommodated within the existing budget of staff resources
