MCU12/0184 Concerns about development approval Margaret Jaquier
Subject: 1192 dw MCU12/0184 Cooroy Broiler From: Margaret Jaquier Date: 2013-12-05T01:11:16+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council Dear Mayor My husband and I are still extremely concerned about the proposed broiler farm on Top Forrestry Road. We fear the air and water pollution we expect to experience. With regard to the waterways: The chickens witl produce manure 365 days a year but avocado trees only need it a few times a year so there will be an enormous excess. This area can receive 100mm plus a day in the wet season so there will be a lot of run off into creeks joining the Mary River and then into the ocean. I am not a scientist but have learned from news and current affairs programs that run off containing high fertiliser levels will encourage overgrowth of vegetation and thus cause blockage of the waterways. We hope you will take all the issues raised, regarding the loss of amenity for the people living in the West Cooroy area, into consideration when deciding whether or not to approve this developement. Margaret Jaquier
